ST. PETERS, MO - Some local youth sports parents are weighing in on the decision of a Neosho youth team to raise money by raffling off an AR-15. Organizers of that raffle have been criticized by some who point out the AR-15 was the type of firearm used in the Florida school shooting that took 17 lives. There was a mix of opinions at Gametime Sports in St. Peters Monday night. Some parents did not see a problem with the raffle while others believed it was in poor taste. “It’s not the gun that kills, it’s the people behind them,” said one parent. “It’s not right. It’s in bad taste,” said another parent. Firearm raffles are not uncommon. We found the website 52gunraffle.com. One upcoming raffle features an AR-15 style firearm. AR-15 style rifles were banned in the United States in 1994

PARKLAND, FL (AP/WCMH) — The 19-year-old suspect in the Florida school shooting that killed 17 people didn’t know how to use a microwave, didn’t pick up after himself and didn’t know how to do his own laundry. The Sneads’ son had asked if Cruz could move in with them after Cruz’s mother died last November. They made Cruz buy a locking gun safe to put in his room the day he moved in. Campaign Action Blanca Morales, Dalia Larios, Alma Oñate and and Anthony Tucker-Bartley are the American Dream. Their immigrant parents worked two or three jobs as farm workers, landscapers, appliance technicians, and caregivers to give them a better life. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Some students in the Hazelwood School District are being picked up late by as much as 30 minutes and others are not being picked up at all. One parent got so frustrated, she called KPLR 11 looking for help. Heather Ball says she told Granneman Elementary School that if her kids continued to be picked up late she would call KPLR 11. On Monday, the bus did not show up again to pick up Ball's children. “We got no phone call, email, nothing. They just didn’t show up. The bus was supposed to be there at 8:05 a.m. and at 8:38 a.m. I got a call from a neighbor saying his kids were still at the stop and he was going to take kids to school.” It's not just what happened Monday.
