Man Utd receive this defensive boost, star set to return: report

Manchester United’s Eric Bailly is set to return to action according to reports- news that’ll surely delight fans and Jose Mourinho.

Supporters have been incredibly frustrated by losses to Newcastle and Tottenham and have blamed Chris Smalling and Phil Jones for the results.

Smalling conceded a free-kick to the Magpies by diving which allowed them to score the only goal of the hotly contested match.

Jones meanwhile scored an own goal vs Spurs in what was considered to be a must win match if United wished to remain in the Champions League spots.

Bailly will certainly be keen to return and put behind him a spell of unfortunate niggles and knocks as he aims to consolidate his place as the club’s best centre-back.

According to 101 Great Goals, Spanish journalist Jose Alvarez Haya reports that Eric is set to return to first team training this week as he aims to be involved in the Champions League tie vs Sevilla next week.

The Ivorian international is seen to be one of the club’s future centre-backs with fans hoping to see him forge a solid partnership alongside Victor Lindelof.

Although Lindelof has taken some time to adjust to his new surroundings, there have been glimpses of real quality and supporters are eager to see the two lead the club to glory.

Chris and Phil were both once brought into the club for similar reasons but have failed to leave up to their potential and Jose will definitely be hoping there’s no repeat in history.
