This Man Utd star is unlikely to feature vs Huddersfield: report

Manchester United star Ander Herrera is unlikely to make an appearance during the club’s clash against Huddersfield in the FA Cup.

Jose Mourinho will be glad to know he has Michael Carrick and Scott McTominay in reserve but will surely miss the tenacious Spaniard.

Herrera hasn’t enjoyed the best of seasons this campaign as he failed to build on his performances last year that earned him the club’s best player of the year award.

With both Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic ahead of him in the picking order, the midfielder hasn’t had too much time to prove his worth once more but when he has been handed a start he’s been unable to capitalise.

However, it appears as though he won’t even get the opportunity to feature when United take on Huddersfield for the fifth round of the FA Cup.

According to 101 Great Goals, the Sun report that Ander is unlikely to feature in the FA Cup match vs Huddersfield and could be out for weeks as he attempts to recover from his left-thigh injury.

The former Atletico Bilbao star will certainly be one of the players who agrees with the majority of fans’ views that the team should play in a 4-3-3 formation.

A three man midfield allows Ander Herrera to sneak into the side more than he currently does but perhaps Mourinho fears he lacks the number or quality in the engine room to switch formations permanently.

Supporters witnessed Jose try a number of formations during pre-season and Andreas Pereira did feature in a 4-3-3 but maybe his move to Valencia on loan halted his manager’s plans.
