Fernando Varela
PAOK beat Larissa 3-0 on Monday evening.
PAOK’s second goal was scored by former Steaua Bucharest defender, Fernando Varela.
The 30 year old headed home from Dimitros Pelkas’ corner in the 40th minute of the match. He then proceeded to run off the pitch and celebrate with his son who had been suffering from bullying at school.
Why was he bullied?
Varela’s son was taunted by his class mates due to his father’s own goal which came in a match last season against Olympiacos.
Varela had actually scored his first goal for PAOK earlier in the match but scored a disastrous own goal in the 25th minute. Olympiacos went on to win the game 2-1 with Crystal Palace’s Luka Milivojevic scoring a late late winner deep into added time.
