Juventus are interested in signing this Man Utd star: report

Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian may be set to leave the club as Juventus are reportedly interested in signing him and have made a serious move for him.

The Italian has struggled to impose himself at Old Trafford and it appears he’s finally on his way out of the club under Jose Mourinho’s management.

Darmian was brought in by Louis Van Gaal as he looked to address the United’s need for defensive reinforcements, particularly at a time when Antonio Valencia was still struggling with adjusting to the full-back position.

Fans knew they weren’t getting the most attacking right-back in the world but were pleased to finally have a capable defender in their team.

However, the former Torino man failed to impress even in that regard and Mourinho is aiming to overhaul the defensive department in his squad.

According to Calcio Mercato, Romano reports that Juventus have contacted Matteo’s representatives ahead of a possible summer move to Italy.

The Red Devils currently have Valencia and Ashley Young as the capable options on the right side of the team’s defence.

The Englishman has mostly featured as a left back but it appears that Jose is only willing to use him now as a back-up to the Ecuadorian, pushing Matteo Darmian even further down the pecking order.

Luke Shaw has also recently excelled in the left-back spot so even the 28 year old’s versatility doesn’t factor to help him save his career at Manchester United.

The Juventus rumours are a little strange but perhaps they only want Darmian as a back-up option to their already impressive team.
