Paris Saint Germain are not planning a swoop for Marcos Rojo in the summer at present, according to reports. Reports have suggested that Unai Emery was planning to make a bid for the Argentine defender after negotiations over a new contract at Old Trafford broke down. Rojo missed the early stages of the campaign with a knee injury and has only made five Premier League starts since returning in November. But according to ESPN‘s Jonathan Johnson, the Ligue 1 leaders have no plans in place to sign Rojo in the summer. In fact, following the 3-1 defeat at the Bernabeu, nothing is particularly certain at the Parc des Princes – and that includes their transfer policy. Emery was booed by segments of the home crowd ahead of PSG’s 5-2 win over Strasbourg on Saturday and you sense ...

Amazing for Manuel Lanzini: West Ham boost before Liverpool

Liverpool vs West Ham Both Liverpool and West Ham should be fully recharged by the time they meet at Anfield this weekend. After more than a week off, the Reds host the Hammers this Saturday in the Premier League. When the sides met earlier in the season at the London Stadium, Liverpool ran out 4-1 victors. Mohamed Salah scored twice on that occasion. Liverpool should come into the game full of confidence after a 5-0 Champions League win over Porto. However there’s also been good news for West Ham regarding Manuel Lanzini. Manuel Lanzini back for Anfield Everything seems certain that West Ham playmaker Lanzini will be in the Hammers XI for the Liverpool game. Lanzini has posted a not-so-cryptic update on social media revealing he’s ready for the the weekend’s fixture. Manuel La

He joined Italian side Napoli two years later and soon established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A. Kou...

Manchester United receive Alex Sandro transfer update

Sports
Manchester United target Alex Sandro has made it clear that he was focused on working hard at Juventus amid speculation of a potential move to Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho pin-pointed the need for a left-back over the summer and reportedly targeted Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose. Luke Shaw‘s recent resurgence in that role has led to Mourinho cooling his interest in a left-back but reports have claimed that the 55-year-old still sees the Brazilian as his primary summer target. Speaking soon after scoring the winner against Torino on Sunday, Sandro was quick to dismiss talk of what would happen in the summer. “I have always remained focused on my work and my only thought has always been Juventus, with whom I still have two years of contract,” he said. “I feel re...

Wigan stun Man City in the FA Cup Monday was a great night for Manchester United. Along with Tottenham and Chelsea, Man United will now be fancying their chances of winning this season’s FA Cup. That’s after Wigan pulled off one of the shocks of the season beating Man City 1-0 in the fifth round. Will Grigg was the hero for the Latics, as Wigan booked a quarterfinal date with Southampton. Pep Guardiola ‘lost it’ after Fabian Delph One of the big talking points from the match was the red card served to Fabian Delph. Delph took out Wigan’s Max Power with a horrible tackle just before the interval. Referee Anthony Taylor eventually sent off the Man City fill-in left-back, but only after Taylor lead everyone to believe Delph would only receive a yellow. Did Wigan&...

Pundit backs Aston Villa to struggle against Preston; ignore him for 21/20 cracker - originally posted on Sportslens.com Championship pundit David Prutton has backed Preston North End to put another dent in Aston Villa’s promotion hopes on Tuesday. Villa dropped to third in the table after losing 2-0 at Fulham on Saturday, while North End are just outside the play-off places following a 1-1 draw at home to leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers. Prutton told Sky Sports that he expects Alex Neil’s side to repeat that scoreline at Villa Park (9/2 with Sky Bet). “Aston Villa came crashing back down to earth at Fulham on Saturday as their winning run came to an end at Craven Cottage,” he said. “It was always going to be a tough trip, however, and Steve Bruce will have t...

New Emirates shirt deal positive, but must help the necessary squad rebuilding

So, out of nowhere really, with no rumours doing the rounds about such a deal, Arsenal announced an extension to the shirt sponsorship with Emirates yesterday. A five year lengthening means they’ll be kit sponsors until 2024, and of course the airline retain the naming rights of the stadium until 2028 aside from that. In the announcement it was described as ‘largest sponsorship deal ever signed by the club’, and that’s a good thing but also, given it’s 2018, the cost of things rarely, if ever, goes down, and the duration of the extension, it ought to be the biggest deal we’ve ever done. Interestingly, the club have not released the financial details of it, and when I asked they said there were no plans to go into the specifics. However, via the back chan...
