Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini has reportedly agreed to sign with Besiktas despite Jose Mourinho’s best efforts to hold onto him.

The Portuguese manager has made it clear that he highly rates the Belgian, even admitting so publicly perhaps in an effort to keep him at the club.

Fellaini’s contract expires at the end of the season and United as well as the player’s representatives have been locking horns for a long time over negotiations.

However, it appears as though the midfielder has decided to call it quits on his time at the club despite Mourinho perhaps during the best out of him.

Marouane though may be keen to leave in search of guaranteed first team minutes where he might have better luck abroad.

According to Turkish Football, Fotomac reports that the Turkish club have agreed a deal with the 30 year old to join at the end of the season for free.

Marouane Fellaini‘s decision to leave will surely throw a wrench in Jose’s plans in terms of where to invest in the summer transfer window.

The former Everton man is not the only player set to leave the Red Devils at the end of the season with Michael Carrick also planning to retire and join the club’s staff.

With Ander Herrera also linked with Italian giants AC Milan, Jose Mourinho could find himself left with just Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic as his senior midfielders.

He could potentially rely on youngsters for depth such as Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Andreas Pereira who are both out on loan along with Scott McTominay who is already part of the first team.
