Mourinho frustrated due to this Man Utd star's contract: report

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly concerned with his club’s efforts in renewing Marcos Rojo‘s current contract.

The Argentinian arrived at Old Trafford during Louis Van Gaal‘s reign but the Portuguese manager has clearly shown faith in him.

Rojo was one of the Red Devils’ better performers last season before his horrific injury that ruled him out for quite some time with him only just recently returning.

The centre-back’s contract is set to run out next summer and so Mourinho hopes not only to end it to secure his services for longer but to also ward off any interest from other clubs.

Should he fail to come to terms with the club, he would be put in a scenario where he will have the upper hand in contract negotiations as the former Chelsea manager will not want to lose him.

According to Team Talk, The Sun on Sunday report that Jose is upset with the amount of time it’s taking for the United hierarchy to tie Marcos down to a new contract amid interest from PSG.

Should the club lose him, it wouldn’t be the end of the world as the club are overstocked in the centre-back area but they will miss his quality.

Manchester United have Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof as Marcos Rojo‘s positional rivals.

Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian are also emergency options while on loan Axel Tuanzebe is expected to return next season to make a serious claim on the position.
