Man Utd star reveals his personal future targets at the club

Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo has revealed his personal future targets at the club as he continues his return from his horrific injury.

The Argentinian suffered the same terrible injury as Zlatan Ibrahimovic did and whilst he has taken longer to return, he hasn’t suffered any further set-backs as his teammate did.

Rojo has been sorely missed of late with some fans wondering why Jose Mourinho hasn’t favoured him over Phil Jones and Chris Smalling.

Both players have been scrutinised lately due to their questionable performances and supporters have called for at least one of them to be replaced by the versatile defender.

Marcos though was busy discussing his own future rather than focussing on his teammates and opened up about his own personal targets.

According to Manchester United’s official website, Marcos told Inside United: “I feel my thinking in the next few years must be to try to stay as long as I can and to be here at one of the biggest clubs you can be at.

“My family is really happy to be here and I am also very pleased to be here. The challenge in the next few years is to win the Premier League. I don’t want to leave England without winning the title.

“It’s great and I’m very happy here. At first, it’s true it was difficult but it always is difficult getting used to a new city. Now, I’ve found a love for the city. My daughters are very happy here.

“My eldest daughter is at school at the moment so, when I come in to train and work hard, I get home and knowing my wife and daughters are happy contributes to your general feeling.”

Marcos Rojo was once also heavily scrutinised by fans but has proven to be a more solid defender under Mourinho’s management.

The former Sporting man played quite a number of his early games as a left-back for United but was quickly targeted by opposition teams as they aimed to exploit his weaknesses.

Jose decided to move him inwards in perhaps his more natural position as a centre-back and the decision proved the correct call as he has looked far more solid.

Louis Van Gaal also recognised the same thing but featured him more often on the left of the defence in one of the more bizarre decisions of the former Dutch manager.
