Liverpool fans are falling head over heels for Mohamed Salah this evening during their Champions League clash with Porto.
The Egyptian has become the most important player for Jurgen Klopp’s side despite only being at the club since the summer.
The forward joined Liverpool with high expectations having signed for around £35million, despite failing to impress with Chelsea in the Premier League.
A career twist took him to Italy with Fiorentina before moving to Roma permanently
Having impressed in his time in Rome, the Egyptian was ready for another crack at the Premier League when Liverpool came calling.
What no one would have expected though, was for him to have such an effect and to do so well at Anfield.
Stunning season
While some would have thought that maybe 10 goals would have been a decent return for him in his first season, he had other ideas.
It was a slightly slower start to what we are used to now but it suddenly became a case of when he was going to score than if.
On Wednesday night, he went into the game with Porto on 29 goals for the season.
Safe to say, we all knew that he was going to break the 30 goal mark in the crunch clash in the Champions League.
He did that in style by flicking the ball over the goalkeeper having gone beyond the defence, keeping his composure under pressure and poking it into the net.
Liverpool fans kicked off the love-in and were extremely happy to see him reach that incredible total.
Not only that, he becomes only the 13th Liverpool player to break 30 goals in a season.
All that and he still has three full months to add to his total and could easily get another 10!
At this point, you certainly wouldn’t bet against him doing it.

If Salah was bought as a centre forward the adulation for him right now would be off the scale both inside the club and out. Because he was bought as a winger his achievements are dimmed slightly, when really they should glow even more.
