Juventus defender Alex Sandro has today opened up on the rumours linking him with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.

As was widely reported all summer, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was in the market for full-back reinforcements ahead of his side’s return to the Champions League this season, with Sandro having topped the Italian tactician’s wishlist.
Brazilian international Sandro has developed into one of world football’s finest left-backs since his move to Turin from Porto in 2015.
However, having lost both Leonardo Bonucci and Dani Alves to AC Milan and PSG respectively during the summer transfer window, the Bianconeri were unwavering in their stance regarding Sandro, with bids of up to 70 million Euro having reportedly been turned down by the Serie A champions.
Struggles
Reports emanating from Italy over the months that followed had suggested that Sandro was close to agreeing a new contract with Juve, but a major dip in form to start out the campaign has since thrown this deal into doubt.
The last month has seen the South American rediscover much of his previous brilliance, with Sandro even netting the winner during the Turin derby yesterday morning, but, nevertheless, the uncertainty surrounding his future has remained.
‘Focused’
Speaking in an interview with Italian outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport over the weekend, Sandro was questioned on the rumours linking him with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG, with the 27-year-old insistent that he never allowed his head to be turned away from the job at hand with Juventus:
‘I have always remained focused on my work and my only thought has always been Juventus, with whom I still have two years of contract.’
‘I feel really good and I am satisfied with my condition today.’
‘My goal is first of all to win everything with Juventus. Then, the World Cup will come and I hope to deserve a call from the Selecao by doing well here.’
