Tottenham Hotspur are set to reward manager Mauricio Pochettino for his sterling work with a lucrative new contract, according to the Telegraph.

The club are hopeful that the 45-year-old will reject offers from Europe’s elite to lead them out into their new stadium which is scheduled to open this summer.

Spurs are also set to offer key duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli new deals, with the latter already in talks over signing a new contract before this summer’s World Cup.

Key figures rewarded

Pochettino, Kane and Alli are all set to commit their futures to Tottenham as the club prepare to enter the next chapter of their history by moving to their new 62,000-seater stadium on Tottenham High Road.

The club are confident that Pochettino will remain in N17 to oversee the project which he began building almost four-years ago since arriving from Southampton.

The Argentine’s stock has seriously risen since then, with both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid showing an interest in luring him away from Spurs.

Pochettino only signed a new five-year contract in 2016, meaning talks over another new contract are currently relaxed.

Kane and Alli are two players the club are also desperate to keep hold of, with the pair set to sign new deals before the summer.

Meanwhile, ESPNFC report that Tottenham are considering extending Erik Lamela’s contract by one-year until the summer of 2020 by activating an option in the player’s contract.

The midfielder impressed on Tuesday against Juventus on his return to Spurs’ starting eleven and is currently subject to interest from Italian side Inter Milan.

In a true showing of two European heavyweights going head-to-head, Tottenham Hotspur managed to recover from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Juventus in a special night of Champions League football in Turin.

Last year’s finalist Juve had gone throughout the whole of 2018 without conceding a goal in all competitions, that was until Harry Kane and company had arrived at the Allianz on Tuesday evening.

In a blink of an eye, the Italians were almost out of sight, as a brace in the opening nine minutes from Gonzalo Higuain, one from a very well worked free-kick and a second from the penalty spot, meant Spurs had it all to do.

However, instead of rolling like a Tottenham side of old, Pochettino’s men battled back, as who other than Harry Kane raced round Gianluigi Buffon to cooly convert and give the travelling support hope.

Just moments from the close of the first half, Serge Aurier produced a rash challenge on winger Douglas Costa, with the referee being forced to again point to the spot, only for Higuain to save his blushes by crashing his second spot-kick of the night against the crossbar.

The North Londoners continued to play the better of the two sides into the second-half, as Christian Eriksen finally found an equaliser and the net from a free-kick, for the first time since October 2015, handing Spurs a crucial second away goal.

At full-time, Massimiliano Allegri reflected the feel of the home support as he stormed down the tunnel, whilst Pochettino, with a big, beaming smile across his face, congratulated his players, knowing a 0-0 or 1-1 draw at Wembley will send his side through to the next round of the competition.
