Good for Manchester City: Pep Guardiola reveals injury boost

Injury boost

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been handed a pretty decent injury boost this week in relation to one of their star men.

That star man comes in the form of forward Gabriel Jesus who suffered a pretty significant injury at the back end of 2017.

Thankfully for Manchester City, they have players such as Sergio Aguero who are ample enough stand-ins.

The Argentine has recaptured some of the form he did before the arrival of Gabriel Jesus of late and is thriving once again.

Though, it’s no secret that should Aguero suffer an injury, the club would be without a decent enough option up front.

Safe to say, that means that the club would be very happy to see the Brazilian return to the club in the next couple of weeks.

Thankfully for them, that looks to be the case as Pep Guardiola confirmed the player was to train today.

‘Today he is going to play in part of the session,’ Guardiola said.

‘I don’t know when he’ll be ready to be with us, the first step is to have one or two weeks training alone and today is the first with the team.’

‘Between the game in Basel, we had six days and then we’ll have six days until the final,’ he said.

‘They can recover in two or three days, you have to look at the conditions but if the players feel well, we’ll see.’

Worry for Man City: Gabriel Jesus confirms he’s ‘scared’

While it’s certainly positive for the time being, Gabriel Jesus is still worried.

The injury isn’t ideal and it’s both a physical and psychological blow to the player.

Now, he’s not entirely gotten over it and he’s admitted that he still has some way to go.
