SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Emergency crews responded to a fire on the train tracks running over Erie Blvd and Green Street in Schenectady early Wednesday morning.
Deputy Fire Chief Moreno said a maintenance apparatus hauling two propane tanks caught fire around 4:20 a.m. Wednesday.
A crew of around 18 firefighters was able to contain and extinguish the fire. No serious injuries were reported.
Roads nearby have been reopened for the morning commute and an Amtrak representative says the train tracks are being inspected to ensure they are safe to travel on.
