Arrest made in North Greenbush robbery cases

NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10) – On Friday evening, Charlie P. Hardt was taken into custody by the North Greenbush Police Department, with the assistance of Rensselaer Police Department and the United States Marshals Service after a two week search.

Hardt is the suspect in two armed robberies in North Greenbush that occurred on February 3rd, 2018.

The first incident was an armed robbery at Don Cook Jewelry, where a weapon was displayed by Hardt.He also committed a home invasion a short distance away, stealing a vehicle. A weapon was displayed in that incident, as well.

Hardt was identified as a suspect within hours but could not be immediately located. The 13 day search was a joint effort between the North Greenbush Police Department and New York State Parole.

Hardt has been charged with several accounts of robbery, burglary, grand larceny felonies.
