6 questions you should ask your entertainer during the interview process

Always interview your suppliers before hiring them. This will help you determine if they are the right fit, their communication skills, and their willingness to adapt to your needs. Ask the following questions:

1. Tell me about your favorite jobs or performances at events.
Their answers let you know their passion for the work and the types of events that best suit them. If you’re planning a 25th wedding anniversary party, you want someone who loves playing for a mixed-age crowd. If you are planning a corporate event, you want someone who will work well in a professional environment band in bristol.

2. What happens if you or a team member is off work on the day of the event?
There is no right or wrong answer to this question, as long as you have a plan. If they say, “I’m never sick, so it’s not a problem,” move on to the next interview.

3. What do you think is your role in this event?
Band leaders and DJs have different philosophies. Some see themselves as entertainers; others believe they are just there to play the music. Think about what you want beforehand so you can choose someone who can fill the required role.

4. What will you and the band members wear to this event?
You want your band or DJ to fit the image of the event. Ripped jeans and Chuck Taylor sneakers don’t look professional at a formal gala, and a tuxedo is overkill for a casual event. If they ask you about your preferences, be sincere and honest.

5. Do you need any type of equipment?
It’s good to know beforehand because add-ons like extra microphones and speaker rentals will affect your budget.

6. Who will perform or DJ at my event?
If you’ve booked a group because the singer has a fantastic voice, you need to make sure they’re the ones performing at your event. Many bands change performers for different events, and some DJs have others working in their place. There is nothing wrong with this practice, but you need to make sure you are hiring who you think you are hiring.
