Xavi on Real Madrid 3 – PSG 1
It’s clear that Barcelona old boy Xavi will never be a Real Madrid fan.
But in a new interview with French news outlet So/Foot, Xavi has given an alternative opinion on how Real Madrid beat PSG last week.
Los Blancos, who have won the Champions League twice in a row and three times in four years, beat PSG 3-1 in their last-16 first-leg.
PSG took the lead through Adrien Rabiot. But Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice and Marcelo bagged the other as Real took firm control of the tie.
But was Xavi impressed with Madrid?
‘What did Cristiano Ronaldo do against PSG?
In an explosive interview, Xavi has slammed Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo after the PSG game:
Real has something. For a moment, PSG flirted with 1-2.
Real were on the verge of bending, then they came back in the game.
Against them you can never miss your chance, otherwise they punish you directly. The worst thing is that they get to hurt their opponent with nothing. A counter-attack, a corner is enough for them to take things in their hands.
It’s so amazing that when the game ends and you look at the score, you say, ‘Fuck, 3-1… But how did they do it?’
You almost think it’s an injustice that PSG lost by such a wide score. How is it possible for Real to win this match 3-1, when it is a match that should have ended at 1-1, 2-2, or even 1- 2 for the PSG?
The problem is that always we look at everything only through the scoreboard.
It always happens like this: in football, when you win, you are always more beautiful. Zidane, after the game, suddenly became the most beautiful in the eyes of those who have not stopped criticising him in the last few weeks.
Emery has become ugly. But it should not be like this, we should not focus on the scoreboard, but we have to analyse the content proposed by both teams.
For example, I read many articles that said that Cristiano (Ronaldo) was still above Neymar. No, no, it’s unfair.
What did Ronaldo do? He scored a penalty and a knee goal. But what about the dangerous situations created by Neymar? The problems that he caused Madrid? And the counterattacks that he launched?
