Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo admits he’s happy to be on the same side as the dangerous former Arsenal man Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean international switched the Emirates for Old Trafford as he was involved in a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan go the other way.
The transfer was considered as a bargain by many United fans who believe they’ve swapped someone who hasn’t performed for them for someone who is one of the best in the Premier League.
Sanchez has made a bright start to his career with the Red Devils but unfortunately results haven’t gone his way as the club go through an inconsistent period of form.
Either way Rojo is just happy to see the winger on the same team as he is after the pair battled several times in the past.
According to ESPN, Marcos said to Inside United: “I have faced him a number of times, playing either against Arsenal or Chile. We always seem to have fought on the pitch so it’s better we’re on the same side as we always ended up kicking each other.
“That’s my style and the way I play. I’ve been this way since I was a kid. I am very aggressive and emotional on the pitch.
“I’m a very typical South American player. We’re very aggressive. It is something in my blood. I’m not going to change. Alexis is a great person, now I’ve got to know him.
“He is a fantastic player and I hope he brings his maximum level to United. He’s settling in well. He’s got a new house. In fact, it’s the one I had when I first arrived at United.”
Many Manchester United fans have called for Marcos Rojo to be reinstated into the starting XI after the club’s recent losses to Newcastle and Tottenham.
The former Sporting man has returned from a horrific injury and has seemingly been slowly involved with the first team but not as quickly as supporters would like.
Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have been the centre-back partnership of late and the pair’s costly errors has meant that many fans are calling for Rojo to return.
Some sections have even requested to see Victor Lindelof in the starting XI despite his shaky early season form and his clear need to adjust.
Such has been the form of the English pair and rumours have already begun linking them away from United in the summer transfer window.
