Top four
Arsenal could well still make the top four this season according to Alex Iwobi, who thinks that the club are still in the race for a Champions League spot.
That’s despite the majority of people thinking they have little chance, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Spurs all vying for the three positions left now Manchester City have all but secured the title.
The young Arsenal player refused to concede when speaking to the press, and said that the older and more experienced players in the side are helping him, with Ozil and Mkhitaryan being a good influence, and players he can learn from.
The Express report Iwobi said: “We have to do our best in both competitions. That’s what we are trying to do: get into the top four and win the Europa League. That’s the aim.
“I’m still young. I’m still learning from the lads like Mesut and Mkhitaryan. Every time I play, I am grateful.”
Mkhitaryan
Mkhitaryan was someone who Arsene Wenger was thrilled to land in the transfer window, and the player has been far better at Arsenal than he showed at Manchester United for the majority of his career, and it seems to be the case that the Europa League is certainly his competition, after showing his best side for United when in it – and now doing the same once again for the Gunners.
Wenger spoke after his display on Thursday, and said he is settling in slowly but surely, and that the best will be yet to come from the player, who is someone he expects a lot from.
He said: “He has worked very hard and it was a positive performance.
“He adapts slowly to the team and overall he had a positive game tonight.”
