Arsenal vs Liverpool
Two Premier League clubs who may be competition in the summer transfer market are Arsenal and Liverpool.
Both sides are currently battling for a top four finish in the EPL.
Liverpool have the edge current, sitting three places and nine points above Arsenal in the division.
The Gunners and the Reds both seem to share from the same imbalances in their squads.
While the teams have amazing talent in their forward positions, their defences are often too porous.
In particular, many think Arsenal and Liverpool need new keepers.
So could they move for Stoke and England star Jack Butland?
Stoke’s Jack Butland reacts on social media
This week the Star ran a story linking Butland with a Stoke exit this summer.
The Star – a paper with a lousy record when it comes to transfer rumours – told their readers the following:
Jack Butland has told Stoke he wants a move this summer.
Butland has been a rock between the posts for the struggling Potters but they now look set to lose him at the end of the season.
So is there any truth in the Star’s story? No, says Butland.
Clearly angered by the report in the tabloid, Butland has taken to social media to slam the story.
But does that mean he’ll stay at Stoke next season? If the Potters do go down, you’d suspect Butland would jump ship.
I’ve always believed that @JackButland_One spoke well and showed class.. if this is true and he’s asked to leave then his timing couldn’t be worse and to do it during a relegation battle shows lack of professionalism.. very poor if true pic.twitter.com/XXlD89FKno
