The agent of Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva has today opened up on the links between his client and Premier League champions Chelsea.

Candreva, a direct right winger, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge on multiple occasions in the past, with Antonio Conte said to have grown extremely fond of the talents of the former Lazio man during his time spent managing the Italian national team.
Despite often having heavy criticism aimed in his direction due to his well-documented inconsistencies, when on form, Candreva, 30, remains a major handful to deal with for opposing full-backs, with the pace and hammer of a right foot possessed by the wide-man having enabled Candreva to rack up an impressive 18 Serie A assists between this season and last.
Blues’ bid
Speaking in an interview with Italian outlet Rai Sport earlier today, Federico Pastorello, Candreva’s agent, was questioned on links between the Inter star and English giants Chelsea, after reports emerged during both the winter and summer transfer markets last year that the Blues had lodged substantial offers for the experienced Azzurri international:
‘When he arrived at Inter he was very happy, and he still has this enthusiasm.’
‘He was very close to going [to Chelsea] last winter, but he had just been bought by Inter, so it wasn’t possible.’
‘We’re waiting for the end of the season. If they finish in the top four, I think he’ll be happy to remain and finally play in the Champions League.’
