Mourinho furious with these two Man Utd stars following loss to Newcastle

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was reportedly furious with stars Paul Pogba and Phil Jones following the 1-0 loss to Newcastle.

Despite the loss, the club managed to bounce back yesterday with a win vs Huddersfield in the fifth round of the FA Cup but neither player featured.

Pogba was bizarrely left out due to illness despite Mourinho promising he would play in the match whilst Jones’ was presumably just dropped or rested.

Eric Bailly was chosen on the bench instead, much to the delight of United fans who believe he’s a much better option than the club’s other defensive options.

Time will tell whether Jose has truly had a bust up with both players as some sections of the media reports but supporters will certainly not want to see Paul leave in the aftermath of it all.

According to Birmingham Mail, The Sun claim that an insider said: “Mourinho was furious — everybody could hear him shouting at Pogba and Jones.

“He obviously thinks they should do better but the pressure is getting to them.”

Without a doubt the Portuguese manager wishes to see more from both players, it’s only likely that the Frenchman will show improvement.

Yes Paul Pogba is being used in an unfamiliar role that doesn’t necessarily get the best out of him but it’s a role he should still be capable to play.

It could just be a temporary role that Jose Mourinho wants him to fulfil but either way his performances have dropped of late.

It’s not the first time Pogba has been asked to play in a midfield two this season and he was impressive earlier on but has fallen off recently much to his manager’s disappointment.
