Top 4 predictions: Liverpool & Spurs fans will absolutely love this table

The battle for the Top Four

Manchester City are 16 points clear with 11 games remaining in the Premier League this season.

It is simply a foregone conclusion that Manchester City have win the Premier League title.

As it stands, they could even lose every game and come close to winning the league, so big is their lead.

Since Manchester City have lost just once in 27 games so far and have steamrollered pretty much every side they have faced at least once, no one is worrying about the destination of the Premier League title.

Who will bag a spot in the 2018/2019 Champions League?

The top four battle – partly because Manchester City have locked down one space – is much more exciting.

As it stands, there are still five English sides in the Champions League, thanks to Manchester United winning the Europa League last season.

Such a scenario should not be ruled out for 2018/2019 with Arsenal pushing for the Europa League.

And, it is not impossible that one of the English sides will win the Champions League and finish fifth.

This scenario is a real possibility for Chelsea, if you look at a Premier League table predicted by the American statisticans at 538.

So, whilst Tottenham have “put some pressure on” and Liverpool have been impressive of late as well, you would still fancy Manchester United and Chelsea to bag two of the three remaining spots.

After all, their pedigree in the Premier League, not to mention Manchester United’s points total so far, means they will likely make it.

Liverpool are 96% likely to make the top four!

According to 538, who measure teams both in defence and attack, plus with a projection of the remaining fixtures, come up with an alternative table.

Liverpool are 96% likely to finish in the top four.

Tottenham are rated at 81% to be playing Champions League football next season.

Considering Spurs are not even in the top four at the time of writing, this is a big call!
