A rendering of 1781 Peachtree. Perennial Properties will build a two tower, 244,000-square-foot mixed-use development called 1781 Peachtree in Midtown. The development will feature 265 apartments across the two buildings along with office and retail space. Edgewood Court apartments are getting a makeover. Jonathan Rose Companies and Columbia Residential have purchased Edgewood Court Apartments in the Edgewood neighborhood. An $18 million redevelopment of the property will begin soon and is set to be completed in early 2019. Atlanta Fire Chief Joel Baker Atlanta Fire Rescue Chief Joel Baker will official retire on Feb. 15.  During his tenure, Baker led the effort to ensure that the AFRD maintained its ISO Class 1 rating and international accreditation by the Center for Public Safety Excellence. He also led the development and management of department initiatives including the Atlanta Emergency Preparedness Institute and Citizens Fire Academy. Atlanta Police are searching for the suspect who shot and killed a man as he changed a flat tire along Memorial Drive on Sunday night. According to WSB, Justin Edwards, 34, had pulled over at an abandoned building around 11:30 p.m. to change his tire near the intersection of Memorial and Boulevard. Edwards’ girlfriend was also in the car, but was unharmed. Police are hoping surveillance video from nearby businesses will provide clues in the case.
