Bellerin praises this Man Utd star, hails his mentality

Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin has been busy talking about Manchester United’s new signing and former teammate Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean international swapped the Emirates for Old Trafford during the January transfer window in which Henrikh Mkhitaryan went the opposite way.

Sanchez’s deal was seen as a bargain by many United fans but most neutrals were still curious as to what his former teammates though of him for leaving.

The winger’s contract was set to expire before Jose Mourinho swooped in for him, beating fierce rivals Manchester City to the transfer.

Bellerin thankfully didn’t have anything bad to say about Alexis but what he did say makes for some rather interesting reading.

According to the Mirror, Hector said to the Oxford Union: “One of the best in the Premier League for sure but he [Alexis Sanchez] is a player who always wants to win.

“He demands from everyone, sometimes it can be too much. The great thing is he wants to win, to give 100 per cent. This season maybe things weren’t going as well for him but I truly believe he was giving 100 per cent.”

Whilst the Spaniard is a little turned off by Alexis Sanchez’s desire to win, most neutrals would point to that exact reason as to why the Gunners find themselves without a Premier League trophy in quite some time.

In isolation Hector Bellerin’s words may not be that interesting but it comes after Mkhitaryan admitted that there was less demanded of him at Arsenal than at United.

The lack of a winning mentality has started to show and the Red Devils will certainly be even happier to add a player of Sanchez’s quality to their ranks in order to up their desire to win.

Manchester United themselves have been guilty of losing their winning mentality at times and the addition of the versatile attacker will help turn those inconsistencies around.

Mourinho is unlikely to keep any players around who aren’t on a similar level and Henrikh leaving is proof of that.
