Angelo Ogbonna reveals how bad life at West Ham was under Slaven Bilic

Angelo Ogbonna & West Ham

A new interview with Angelo Ogbonna has been uploaded onto the West Ham official website.

Many Hammers fans have been singing the praises of Ogbonna this season.

Indeed, Ogbonna is one of the frontrunners to be West Ham’s player of the season alongside Marko Arnautovic.

David Moyes vs Slaven Bilic

Perhaps the most interesting part of Ogbonna’s latest interview came when he discussed the impact David Moyes has had since his arrival.

When Moyes succeed Slaven Bilic at the London Stadium, the Irons were starring relegation in the face.

West Ham’s fortunes may not have skyrocketed since Moyes’s arrival, yet the Scot has undoubtedly got the team back on the right track.

So how has he done it? Ogbonna, without mentioning Bilic by name, appears to have dug out the Croatian boss with the following comments:

It’s good but it’s not enough because we’re looking to get as many points as we can. Now I think we are in a positive mood.

When the team was doing really bad, we changed the manager and he has brought a lot of energy and a lot of positive things, but the most important thing he brought was discipline because with discipline, you can build whatever you want.

We improved a lot in the last month or two. We changed the shape [to three-at-the-back], but it’s not just that. We run much better than before, not only in distance but in the quality of our running.

Will Moyes stay at West Ham?

When West Ham appointed David Moyes to replace Slaven Bilic, many questioned the decision.

Moyes was only given a contract until the end of the season. So will he be there at the start of next season?

It seems clear that the Irons are gearing up to lock down Moyes to a longer term commitment.
